About Estelle
A regional presence in New Hampshire’s Lakes Region since 2001, Estelle Smith has relocated to the Concord, NH area, an environment that she has found to be warm, supportive, and welcoming. A member of a long list of arts-related organizations, Estelle thrives most within the confines of her new, north-facing, in-home studio, her center for continued work and, her primary love, teaching.
Her paintings have won a number of prestigious awards and have been featured in numerous invitational shows, including one at the Currier Museum in Manchester, NH and one in France organized by the NH Franco-American Center and the French Consulate in Boston, Ma.
Three of her works were featured in the 2010 edition of “Best of America Watermedia Artists” publisher Kennedy Publishing Williamsburg, VA . More recently a watercolor work was featured in the April 2012 edition of the Southwest Art Magazine, and three works (two pencil drawings) in the June 2012 edition of Best of America Still Life Book.
Estelle also works on special artist design consulting projects that include graphic design and brochures, home renderings, business stationary, announcements, and charge cards (Visa, et.). Her paintings have been reproduced for a line of very popular personal note cards and her more recently created “Whimsical Fronts” have proven to be a winner.
Her teaching continues a long and popular tradition, extending a lengthy run in Manchester, Meredith and Moultonboro, NH. Courses emphasize developing skills in basic drawing (“all of the great painters were great drawers first!”). Pencil drawings, then watercolors, all of them popular, because equipment expenses are minimal.
Feel free to contact her if you choose to jump on board!
